30 January 2008 - 22:55Can a corn stove burn wood pellets?

garrisonjj asked:

I have an “Amizeablaze” model 4100 corn burning fireplace insert. I was wondering if I can also burn pellets designed for a pellet stove, or even a mixture of corn and pellets. What do you think? Thanks

26 January 2008 - 10:42Can I install a pellet stove in a house with a water boiler heat system. quad level house w/fireplace?

Donald M asked:

The house is a quad level with the fireplace on level 2. Our heat bills are high so I need to do something. I could either put in the pellet stove insert in the fireplace or put a pellet stove in the basement and try to attach it to my hot water heat system. Is it possible to put the pellet stove in the garage? I just don’t know anything about this stuff. What about the cost - should I be able to stay under 3000$? Could this thing heat my water heater?

25 January 2008 - 17:15Considering a pellet stove BUT??

bella asked:

I would LOVE to get a pellet stove for my home. Our gas costs are outrageous. Only problem is the only area we could install the stove is very far from the stairwell to the upstairs and I want to be certain that the heat makes it to my bedroom which is at the opposite end of the house AND up the stairs. Currently we have radiators today I tried to shut down the ones in the downstairs and just run the ones upstairs. Unfortunately the ones downstairs got hot. I’d hate to spend all that money installing a pellet only to have a cold upstairs and a boiling downstairs. Any suggestions?

17 January 2008 - 23:49I need help with my maxim corn/wood pellet stove by central boiler?

jeffery f asked:

We bought a Maxim corn/wood pellet outside boiler by central boiler, it didn’t work. it was replaced and now after 2 months of trying to learn to operate it, it is not functioning. our salesman came out and said central boiler told him to beat on the end of the auger with a hammer and instructed us to do the same if needed. we are told, we are the only ones to have a problem with our Maxim by Central boiler. if you have a maxim or know anything about them please help.

7 January 2008 - 14:48Pellet stove owners: what are you paying for pellets this year?

midnightblue69 asked:

We got raped on the cost of pellets in VA last year. I figured there couldn’t be any supply excuses this year but the cost of pellets is still 5-6 dollars a bag and $225-$280 a ton this year. Thats almost double what it was the winter before last (before they jacked up gas) What is it ranging where you live?

thinking of getting a stove that heats 6 radiators as well as water tank, have not met anyone who has personal experience of this and would appreciate some honest opinions of it. would like to know if it has worked out cheaper on fuel and if it actually does heat the house efficiently.
